Let’s Play in Japanese!
Take advantage of our East Village location! Your children can play in a childsafe, group environment while being supervised by caring and well trained staff. All activities are held in Japanese by native speakers. This includes: singing and hand songs, storytime, snack, crafts, cultural games and open play. Children over 2 years old may be dropped off. Moms, Dads, grandparents and babysitters may take the time to enjoy the bustle of the East Village. We are steps away from fashion boutiques for children and adults, a variety of Japanese restaurants, Sunrise Japanese Supermarket and convenience store JAS Mart, as well Japanese cafes.
About Us
NYCNDA (Nihongo de Asobou) means NYC Let’s Play in Japanese! Inspired by the Japanese hoikuen, this program was originally created to provide children of a Japanese background with a fun and casual environment to learn the language and culture.
NYCNDA’s purpose is to make this opportunity more accessible to all New Yorkers who have an interest in providing their young children with a bicultural experience. We invite you and your family to join us on this journey!
WHO: This program is designed for children ages 0-6 years. No previous exposure to Japanese is required. Everyone is welcome!
WHAT: This program is not a Japanese class. NYCNDA’s *playgroup provides an opportunity to learn the language and culture through everyday activities.
WHEN: We meet every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. You are welcome to join us for 1-2 ½ hours.
WHERE: Beginning Tuesday, August 4th we will located on E.5th St and 2nd Ave. in the East Village.
HOW MUCH: NYCNDA will keep the prices as low as possible. For more savings check out our multi-day passes.
*Playgroup: A playgroup is a group of children and parents who meet at a designated location and time.
By law we are permitted to have children in our care for 3 hours at a time. Although we are not a daycare, the director has taken daycare certification courses in health, safety, medicine administration, infant and toddler care and programming for mixed age groups. NYCNDA, LLC is insured under the same policy that is required of commercial daycares.
